Title: Adventures in Copyright - The 'Happy Birthday' song
Post by: Yoc on August 08, 2015, 01:37:28 PM
Hi Gang,
Boing Boing has an interesting feature on the developments in the copyright case over the Happy Birthday song.
Well worth a read.

The twisted history of the Happy Birthday song—and the copyright shenanigans that keep it profitable (http://tinyurl.com/ndsvo4m)

Included is a link to Stanford University Libraries' Copyright and Fair Use website (http://fairuse.stanford.edu/overview/public-domain/welcome/).  Also of some interest to DCM users.

Enjoy!

that was indeed a very good read. here's hoping the song rightfully enters the public domain. same for Mickey Mouse.
