Hello all,
I'm new to digital comics and currently finding the best app to read downloaded comics on my ipad. I tried a lot of free apps and end up with manga storm cbr but there are still many paid apps out there those I can't try so I would like some opinions before spending money on it.
Could you guys share about your favorite apps and why do you like it?
Thanks in advance

Hi G,
This is one we talk about in the FAQ section.
A link you might check for current opinions is here -

And another site that lists some is here -

If you find one better than any other please let us know which it is.
Good luck,

G I use ComicBook which does fine. Another one you might try is Comic Reader, it seems to work well too, simple to use, no visible prompts.

Geo, Thanks a lot ^-^

Comic Reader works pretty well, though not as intuitive as I'd like. ComicBook looks great but crashes continually so no luck there yet! Thanks for the recommendations; both of these are strong contenders 😊

Comic Flow is my current favorite.

I will check out Comic Flow as well! Thanks for the tip ;)
I'd really like to do a personal survey of the iPad apps and see which one works the best, just for my own edification.

Hi P,
Feel free to start to one.
But there's so many apps to choose from. Maybe just a general question would work better?
"Which iPad / tablet apps do you use to read your comics?"
I for instance just this week bought a Samsung Galaxy Pad Pro and have been using the free 'Challenger Comics Viewer' app which is working pretty good for me.
I haven't tried any others to compare yet. The only problem I've had is when zooming in and trying to move the focus on the page it will often just jump to the next page instead. But other than that it's got a lot of good features including ftp access for adding new books. And it works with all the formats I need - JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP (Android 4.0+), BMP, PDF, CBZ/ZIP,CBR/RAR and ePUB.

LOVE that idea. Which forum should I put that in?

Hmm. I guess in this section or maybe 'Feedback and Suggestions'

FYI for anyone who is still finding an app for reading comics on iPad, the app that I'm using (Manga Storm CBR) has just been updated with a cool browser that allows me to connect it to my computer and read my comics directly with a few clicks so if I'm at home, I don't need to use so much effort to transfer my comics to the app before reading anymore.
However, you need to configure your computer to be an ftp server which is very easy if you are using mac 8)

Thanks for your recommendation G.
