Title: Miniature Superheros
Post by: louisekraz on September 21, 2014, 08:39:09 PM
I'm doing some research on miniature superheroes or superheroes who get temporarily miniaturized. There are some wonderful Dollman scans here and I've downloaded those but any other, more obscure, leads you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Minimidget & Ritty had adventures in Centaur Comics Amazing Man Comics & Stars And Stripes (not every issue, though.)

Tinyman starts off as a villain, but becomes a hero in MF Enterprises Captain Marvel.

You can also try:

http://pdsh.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Shrinking_Characters

for a listing of, well, characters who shrink.

But it doesn't include characters who have been shrunk - that's probably every superhero ever at one point or another.

Obviously DC's Atom is the best known, probably, followed by Ant-Man/YellowJacket from Marvel. There was also Shrinking Violet in the Legion.

There was a TV show called World of Giants in the late 50s or early 60s (It was syndicated not network) that featured a secret agent who had been permanently shrunk to about 6 inches.

I believe Mighty Man from Centaur was also able to shrink.

Let's not forget:

Dr. Shrinker - he's the madman with the evil eye.

Back in the 1960s, there was a cartoon called Super Six, one of whom was Elevator Man, who could shrink & grow.  Likewise, in DC's original Doom Patrol, they had Elasti-Girl, who could also shrink & grow.

;D Thanks, all. Those are great suggestions and different from the others that I have tracked down. And I agree that it seems like all superheroes get shrunk down at some point. I want to explore why!

Why? Well, probably...
1. The writer/artist/filmaker/etc. wanted to show the world from a different point of view.
2. Children, who are already in a world made for larger people, enjoy seeing adults in such a setting.
