Hi Gang,
Just wanted to make one post on this project that started the other day.
There is a plan to reprint as an archive all of Nelvana's adventures and put up a Kickstarter for it.
If you don't know about Nelvana she was Canada's first female superhero during the Golden age of Canadian Whites during WW2. She predates Wonder Woman as well first appearing in late 1941. You can read all about her and the project here:

Looks interesting.
I dont' scan or tweak scans, but does their timeline seem reasonable - to scan these books and fix them up by April 2014?

Do we have any Nelvana here on the site?

I suspect they've already gotten a good start on it before announcing it on KS.
Check the Canadian section B for Triumph-Adventure Comics.

Ideally, they would have started already. Their Kickstarter page says " We will need to travel to the National Archives of Canada in Ottawa and private collections throughout Ontario to capture scans from their collections, as the original art plates have long since been lost. We will need to buy and rent equipment and software in order to capture and restore the collection in high-definition, with minimal alteration to the original artwork" and "We don't currently know which issues are in the worst condition. Through exploring the collections in the National Archives and private collections, we'll get a better idea of how much work it will take to delicately and carefully capture the artwork in each issue (at least 300 separate pages in total)."
So, it sounds like they would be planning on straight scanning (or photographing), but without any touch-ups (" with minimal alteration to the original artwork").
Does that sound like a reasonable approach and timeframe to complete it?

Hi Roy,
Gee, I don't know. I suppose if most of them were in one location it might be possible.
I wouldn't have put a hard deadline like that myself. Maybe just promise regular updates showing which books are done, needed etc.
I'd like to see Whites get a wider audience out there.

Funded in 6 days:

now to see the turnaround time. They do mention "minimal alteration", so it's pretty much scan/photograph, collate, print, I guess.

Well, I'm in for a paperback copy. I'm interested in their progress, etc.
