Title: Lev Gleason 240 page Giant Boy Book of Comics
Post by: turoksonofstone on May 13, 2013, 01:03:31 AM
Was just wondering if anyone had any info on this 240 page one-shot. I had not been aware there were Lev Gleason giant-size issues..

My first guess was that it was rebound comics.  However, 240 pages is 7.5 16 page signatures so that seems unlikely unless this occurred at a time that Gleason was using half signatures in their comics, and I don't know if they ever did.

Interestingly, there is no price on the cover.

Here's what I found out in the Overstreet Comics Price Guide.

GIANT BOY BOOK OF COMICS (Also see Boy Comics) Newsbook Publications (Gleason): 1945 (240 pgs., hard-c)
1-Crimebuster & Young Robin Hood; Biro-c

So it looks as if it was released.

Thank you for the very helpful replies. This book is a hardcover which may possibly explain the missing cover price and Crimebuster battles Iron Jaw inside as well. I see heritage has sold some copies (3) no mention if the contents are reprints. What a strange book.
