Hello. I'm really interested in the indicia publisher information on the early golden age and pre-golden age comics (example: National Allied Publications, National Allied Newspaper Syndicate, More Fun, Inc., Nicholson Publishing Co. all for DC).
Regarding the FAMOUS FUNNIES title. Most listings give the publisher simply as Eastern Color. I can find "Famous Funnies, Inc." as the indicia publisher with some of the later issues but I have yet to find anything specific for the earliest issues. Does anyone here know if the publisher is given as "Famous Funnies, Inc." starting with the first issue? If not, what was the publisher name given and with which issue did it become "Famous Funnies, Inc,"? Thanks!

BIP Comics has an entire section devoted to Indicia information.

Hi. Yes, I had already looked there. Unfortunately, they don't go back far enough in their Famous Funnies section to show the publisher of record for the earliest issues of the FAMOUS FUNNIES title (circa #1 on). Thanks for the suggestion, though!
