hello, seems a great site, i love the black and white stuff of canniff etc. can anyone recommend anything similar? thanks

Hi! If by "something similar" you just mean B&W comics, there's literally GIGA-TONS of such available. If you mean adventure strips (without too much fantasy or time-warping) like Milt's STEVE CANYON and TERRY AND THE PIRATES, there's also a plethora of riches. My faves from ages past include CAPTAIN EASY / WASH TUBBS, CHARLIE CHAN (very non-PC now), KING OF THE ROYAL MOUNTED, RIP KIRBY, DICK TRACY (before it went all sci-fi), RED BARRY, and BUZ SAWYER.
Suggestion: Get thee to a public library. Look at some comics encyclopedias. You should find mention of hundreds if not thousands of old B&W strips and books. Enjoy!

There are a few Terry and the Pirates here in the Charlton section OLL.

I'm curious as to how many of the Terry and the Pirates strips are public domain as I have a ton of them. All that would limit my uploads is my very limited bandwidth.

It's an ugly mess Jade.
Please check the 'What you can upload' section where we talk about 'How To Check for Public Domain Status' and especially about Newspaper strips.
With Terry, we believe only the Charlton issues are in the PD. AFAIK.
