Starting this one discuss my archive plans, comics, and other interesting info. :-/
(I tweaked the subject a little just to let people know what's going on here RH.

-
So a few of the Archives I'm working on are:
1. MS Victory
2. Pat Patriot
3. Cat-Man
4. Captain Aero
5. The Hood
That's all I can think of right now.. purpose is to get anyone else that would like to provide content for these or help with?
-
So lets talk about MS. Victory this it a original 16x20 watercolor Painting done by Carla Wyzgala www.carlations.net (http://www.carlations.net) she does some incredible stuff and met her at Columbus, OH comiccon..
Attached is small version of painting that we will use for cover
(http://captainaero.mediafire.com/conv/a4338ea60879053bd23aa3034aa2b2c367fabf1774162a04fbfe31b34c4d9e0e6g.jpg)A few of us are throwing around how we will use it but I like the upbeat pin up look of image
Please contact Carla if you like her work and would like a painting for yourself, she is not cheap, but not terrible either.
Carla is also lined up to do a Pat the Patriot original watercolor, this one I will have setup like a old Buy War Bond patriot poster.
-
Next would be Captain Aero's Archive, with original cover by Darryl Banks (Green Lantern Fame). I met him at Pittsburgh ComicCon, he is a great guy and gets cheaper everytime he does something for me. He did the Purple Zombie also. YOC will probable color this up..

He is incredible.
-
Their is also my www.captainaero.com project.
I'm reworking every Captain Aero Comics issue..
I will post some before and after shots of #4 that I'm working on now.
Its very slow in 2 weeks I've completed the first 3 pages
-
OK YOC I started it O0 so help out SAY something... Thanks Brian
Also started scanning a new collection (IRA Collection),.... First Odd Ball ...
A Harvey Comics Title
Hello Pal #1
Which features Chesler Hero's ???
Go Figure, we are missing probable 1st two wraps, but the Rocketman story is complete..
-
Thanks Brian. I think you deserve to have a topic like this devoted to all the various project you've done and have on the go.
Perhaps an introduction of who you are on the first message for the newbies out there?
Your work with the Face Book page, the JVJ Project, your cool fancy scanner, and your offer to scan members books that haven't got time or expertise to do their own?
Finally I think a plug for all your previous collections would fit here. I'll do those for you next.
-
Hey Gang,
Some of you might only know Rangerhouse from his connection to the JVJ Project.
Yes, he's a driving force now producing 1000s of raw scans for Movielover and some others of us to edit and share on DCM.
But there's another side of this man of many talents. He's also enjoys commissioning artists to produce original art based on Goldenage Heroes that he especially enjoys. Using those he's started to create a series of Rangerhouse Archives for sharing here on DCM in our Archives Section. (Click here to see the section (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?cid=962))
Ranger just released his latest archive #5 - The Lost City Collection today! Here's a recap of all his collections - most of them involve me doing the graphic design, sometimes colouring images, and Erwin K. Roberts of fan-fic and pulp writing fame has done some of the introductions for these. Each is a very professional looking collection of a character or feature that deserves some extra attention by the members here on DCM.
Ranger's first collection came out in March 2012 as part of DCM's second anniversary:
(http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/downloads//t_dcm086.jpg)RangerHouse Archive 001 - Captain Marvel Jr. Origin (Fawcett) - CLICK HERE (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=17750)
This collects the origin of Capt. Marvel Jr. across Master Comics 21 (first Capt. Nazi), Whiz Comics #25 (origin CMjr pt 1), Master Comics #22 (origin CMjr pt 2), Master Comics #23 (from Ewin K Roberts), Master Comics #34 (return of Capt Nazi) and a special forward by Erwin K. Roberts!
(http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/downloads//t_flagman000_fc.jpg)Next came RangerHouse Archive 002 - The Complete Flag-Man (Holyoke) - CLICK HERE (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=18703)
All the Flagman stories from Captain Aero Comics #1-#14 with art commissions from Terry Huddleston (cover) and Ed Coutts (TOC).
#3+4 were part of our DCM Halloween Event last year -

Rangerhouse Archive 004 - The Complete Mann of India by Tarpe Mills (Eastern) - CLICK HERE (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=19729)
These two ran together as features in the first 12 issues of Reg'lar Fellers Heroic Comics from Eastern. The Zombie feature was truly strange jumping through time with an undead hero.
Mills would go on to some fame with her Miss Fury strip during the golden age. I helped with colouring the covers and doing all the graphic design.
(http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/downloads//t_LostCity01_Final.jpg)And debuting today was Rangerhouse Archive 005 - The Lost City Collection (Great Comics Pub) - CLICK HERE (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=20215)
This a truly unusual one worth a look as I bet almost nobody here has heard of it before. It's an incomplete adaption of a movie serial from 1935 considered by some one of the worst ever made. Packed with politically incorrect content you'll never see shown on tv - anywhere!
It's packed with over 40 scans of wonderful posters, lobby cards and foreign edition materials. Erwin K. Roberts returns with an fun intro and I again supply all the graphic design.
ALL of these are very well done collections with a lot more than just collecting the scans of each character. I'm excited about helping Ranger with more of these in the future!

Reprints to most people has a negative connotation and isn't exactly accurate.
You've RESTORED them in my mind. Just my opinion.

Looks fine :)

I've slowly but surely have been become a big fan of the collections and just spotted this thread/reply today. AWESOME idea - extremely cool to have artists commissioned to do new covers etc - i knew i liked the idea of having collections when they first started out and in regard to the goals of the site: digital comic preservation I think this is a great tribute.
The MS. Victory looks fantastic. I have to see if an artist friend can (or will force) to do a Golden Lad! hehe and reboot a next version.
Proud to be a member here and appreciate the effort that go into these!!!
-
Ranger goes that extra mile to make his archives that much more than just collections of some stories. I'm happy to help him with the extras and I know Erwin likes helping with intros.
Good luck with your own Golden Lad archive Cap! Following Mort Meskin wont be easy! He was another master IMO.
