One of my ALL TIME favorite artists and he would be turning 100 on August 2.

I consider Astarita among the very best artists of the real Golden Age (1936-1949).

His name has not come up much but I agree his work is superb.

If that's him as a child he could have been a stand-in for a young Spanky from the famous Little Rascals aka Our Gang!

And I recall an article written by him, "The Fiction House Shadow", which appeared in an ish of Fanfare.

That picture is of George "Spanky" McFarland of Our Gang/Little Rascals fame. Check out this group of pictures of "Spanky" and you'll see several shots of him in the same clothes.
