Just curious, How many megabytes / gigabytes of storage does is the library of DCM?
I am just guess at about an average of 12 mb per file. I know that there is at least 10,000 files. 12 x 10,000 = 120,000 mb = 120 gb? at least?
What say you???

bminor,
I know a lot of the files are that size, but the majority of what I see weighs in a 25-30 Mb, with frequent entries in the 45-50 Mb range. So, I would venture a guess that it is at least three times that size. :o
The Captain probably knows; I would guess he is the one doing backups.

Including all comic scan files and any screen shot images included for them the current DCM collection is a whopping 181.82 gigs!
:o ;D
Great work by all involved, scanners, donators, everyone - to create such a wonderful library of scans. You are all to be commended.

Not nearly as much as I expected, Yoc,
Heck, I've got an iPod with 148 gigs of just music on it... Amazing. One issue of my magazine, raw files and cleaned and corrected files plus layouts and all can eat up 30 gigs easily. So from my perspective, less than 200 gb is pretty small.
Since disc space is so cheap these days, it means we'll never have to worry...

I think that's the correct number Jim. CaptDJ would be the one to know for sure.
Our current scan count (with some redundant posts and a few rescanned issues) is 10969!
