Nothing really to add, other than we've lost another of the greats.

Oh this hurts.   :'(
Sadly I'm getting used to the feeling.
RIP Gene.

What a drag. I never thought Colan's work was appropriate for some of the characters he drew but when it worked the effects were magical. I doubt I'll ever see a better version of Dracula than his, and I thought he was perfect for the short-lived "Night Force" as well. He was unique and that's a quality that is becoming regretably rare.

So sad to hear how the end of his life played out. Whatever he may have suffered in life he is at peace now. Rest well.

I was really saddened to hear this this morning. I've gotten more and more into Colan's work over the last few months, and I was hoping to be able to tell him in person at the NY comic con in the fall. I saw him at the show four years ago, but didn't have the chance to talk to him. I even dreamed last night about talking to him about Tomb of Dracula.
