Does anyone here have Joe Palooka Visits the Lost City in paper?
If so, are you willing to scan it?
Cans scans of it be uploaded here?
Thanks!

I don't see it on the copyright site but that isn't 100% conclusive it's safe.
I looked it up on Google and it seems this is a very rare Harvey one-shot with 164pgs and sold for over $5000 once so I doubt it's likely to show up here.
There is a reprint of the story out there though. Check this link -

It's in issue #3 for a reasonable $15.

can someone do a PD check on this one?
BTW: it's a Standard/Better/Nedor book, not Harvey (another overstreet error/ommision for anyone keeping score at home)

I've asked JohnC to look into it HP.
Does this mean you know of an actual scan of the Original?

Ham Fisher has been dead since 1955, the newspaper comic strip medium is fast dying, and I can't imagine that anyone has any plan to bring back Joe Palooka in any form.
I wonder how rare the comic book really is. I had it back in the 1970s, and I probably paid around $5 for it, at most $10.

I didn't see it on THE List (Condensed).
I have the Zack Mosley self-published reprint of one of the best Smilin' Jack stories. Would scans of that be Kosher for posting here?

Bob it would depend on the copyright notice on the reprint and how it fits in the PD slider.

A few years ago, I found a Smilin' Jack web site run by Zack Mosely's daughter, and if I remember correctly, reprints of the old comics were being sold on the web site. So most likely, the copyrights and trademarks of the character are being watched over by Mosely's estate.

After reading this thread I was more than a little interested in reading this. I'm glad it has been scanned and uploaded here: http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=13290
Posting to help out others who are also interested after reading this thread. :)
