I'm still looking for Exciting Comics #39, but I haven't found it yet. For some reason, it isn't among the issues available for download on the web yet.

I looked it up on "TheList" and it hasn't been scanned as of yet and isn't on JVJ list of books he has. Please be patience, it will eventually show up. As to when that is impossible to predict though.

What the devil is "TheList?"
-
It's a master list of all the comics that are/have been scanned, it's updated weekly.

And is located ....

I use to have a link for it, don't anymore. Maybe someone else can give a new link for it now.

I'll give a link to the latest weekly version here, but I don't personally have anything to do with putting it together (but thanks as always to the team that keeps it). Last weeks total: 157,051 unique scans - go team go:

I'm not sure that THEList is really available immediately out on the open web. It's meant to be a tool for scanners to avoid duplicates and figure out what still needs scanning, though it's of obvious use to scan collectors as well...

Thanks you Darwination for that link. And you are right about it being available to the public openly. That it is mainly a tool for scanners.
I know for a fact that the books here get updated on it, not sure who it is that does that though.
And a lot of books scanned before are getting re-scanned at highter res and getting cleaned up and ones with pages missing updated (marked as (I) incomplete) now.

The cover to Exciting Comics #39 can be found at Holey Moley's Cover Collection, as well as that of its succeeding issue, Exciting Comics #40. It is my hope that they can be used to help find the comic online.

I have completed my own version of Kara's origin just tonight and will post it online so as to tide people over until EXCITING COMICS #39 is uploaded to the site.
-
And Exiting 40 was my first GA comic ??? Of course mine was missing a page. Grading was more stiff back then and if it had the page it probably would have been vg at least.
-
I'm way over-due for a visit to th' auld comic shop, so will 'ave a look-see when I go to-day ( as they do tend to get in GA collections from time-to-time. ) No guarantees tho'...

I have just found a copy of the cover of EXITING COMICS #39 at a blog called Golden Age Comics Stories, but no more than the cover. I am still eager and waiting to read the rest of this amazing Golden Age comic! ;D

NOT TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT OR BE RUDE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT I'M STILL LOOKING FOR EXCITING #52 (assuming there is such an issue) . . . . because Overstreet's book of Price Guidelines says there is a Miss Masque story in it . . . and I'm one of her big fans. I once owned #51 and #53 and they both had great MM stories, but #52 has completely eluded me for more than a decade -- I've listed it on my Ebay search list and I've never had even a glimpse of it. So if anyone knows anything about Exciting #52 I'd be most grateful to receive that information. Thanks.
P.S. I love this site . . . you guys are amazing . . . hats off to all of you.
