Continuing the list of recent comics that I've not been able to view because of "Access Violation."
Whiz #8(1942)
Spirit newspaper strips 1941 & 1950
Strange Mysteries #12(1953)
Radiant Love #5(1954)
Worlds of Fear #2(1952)
World War III (1952)
In addition True Pirates #7(1957) wo'nt open because "This Archive is not a valid zip archive"
Anybody else having problems viewing these files?

I attempted to verify the problem with "True Pirates #7" but I can't find a book by that title, either here or in the Grand Comics Database.
-
Snard, you are right; I can't find the 'True Pirates' anywhere on DCM. :-/ I probably downloaded it from Comic Book Plus. Sorry. Thanks for the heads up ;)

Hi Larry,
Yep, DCM doesn't have that 'True Pirates' book on the site.
Those 'access violation' errors aren't specific to any books afaik. The books you mentioned are working for me.
It's a general system hic-up that still shows up from time to time.
Thanks for reaching out and happy holidays to you,
-Yoc
We suggest trying again later when you see error messages like that or the SMF database error that also happens from time to time.
-
Thanks, Yoc.
Can 'Access Violation' errors also originate in my own computer :-/ I'm using an old unstable operating system (Win7) :(
-
I've seen them on WinXP, Win8.1 and Win11.
I think it's our problem, not yours. :(

Thanks, Yoc.
Happy Holidays to you and to all our friends on DCM!!

Thanks Larry. And to you and your family as well.

Thanks Yoc :)
I found that a free reader, 'Sumatra', on the net that opens all of these files. Apparently, the files were uploaded to DCM in a less familiar form ... maybe for Apple computers, rather than PCs. Some years ago the same thing happened here and was attributed to the Apple format.
To view the files: download Sumatra > left click on comic file > 'open with' > Sumatra > file opens.
