Hey all!
There are two recent-ish new articles on my blog. The latest covers Munson Paddock's vertiginously beautiful MARS MASON, and then Frank Borth's ridiculous and slightly grim MOPPO THE MARIONETTE!
Hope you enjoy!

Ah, thank you, I appreciate that!

No problem Jon, your blog fits into this site like a glove and your writing is great fun.
It's interesting that Pretty in Ink - North American Women Cartoonists 1896-2013 by Trina Robbins appear convinced that Paddok was a woman - CECELIA MUNSON due to the Fox credits.
If you ever find a picture of him please share it with us here or in your blog and let us know.

I've not been able to find a photograph, but Alex Jay at the Strippers Guide did an amazing job of tracking down source documentation asserting Paddock's identity, including his draft card, census confirmation, studio and residential leases : http://strippersguide.blogspot.com/2016/01/ink-slinger-profiles-by-alex-jay-munson.html (http://strippersguide.blogspot.com/2016/01/ink-slinger-profiles-by-alex-jay-munson.html)

Yep, I found the same on Ancestry.com. And found nothing about a 'Cecilia Munson' born around that date.

I just did a deep-dive on Newspapers.com and unfortunately didn't come up with any photos :C

However, samples of his short-lived strips are everywhere. You can see the style's origins and Paddock's inventive conceit for this strip ...

Here's "Angelic Angelina," the flipside of Naughty Ned...

Thanks Jon, I was just wondering about them.
If I were to put together an archive for Paddock might I use your blog post on him as an intro to the collection?
No worries if you'd rather not.

Absolutely, please feel free!

Thanks Jon!
I'll run it past you for suggestions, corrections before I put anything on the site.
This might be a while though, I've got a few irons in the first already.
Keep up the great work and let us know when something new is up here. :D
