Title: the Hernandez-Guardineer connection
Post by: Poztron on June 04, 2010, 12:19:28 AM
If you are fan of Los Bros. Hernandez, you might want to check out pg 10 in the recently uploaded Police #8. It is the splash page for "The Mouthpiece" story by Fred Guardineer. There's an uncanny resemblance between that page and work 60+ years later by Mario & Jaime Hernandez. A certain placement of blacks on the page, the clean-lined telegraphed faces, the woman on the right side of the Splash panel, that all make me think of Hernandez art. I wonder if either brother ran across Guardineer art at some point and dug him.

Interesting...
an example of the page and one from the Brothers would be nice here.
You can add them by clicking 'Additional Options' down on the bottom right of the reply window.
