Well, I just submitted my first upload (via the web form). I'm sure i probably did 12 different things wrong, but there it is.

It came through fine, I just approve it for general consumption, available to all. By the way did you scan this or just find it on the wild, wild web? Anyway thank you for the upload, it's very much appreciated.

Thanks for the cool issue of Exciting Comics! Beautiful scans! :D

I will add that info to the file them (scanned and edited by bcholmes).
Great job by the way.

Nice thanks holmes

And now my second upload in is place. The site has had an incomplete version of Startling Comics #34. I've scanned a cover-to-cover version. In particular, the site was missing the one story I really wanted to read: the origin of The Scarab.
In fact, both comics that I've uploaded have included Scarab stories. I think he's an interesting character.
-
It's up and available for downloading, I added the part about the "Origin of Scarab" to the infomation.
Thanks for the upload.

Another great Better/Nedor book. Thanks for giving us the complete version bcholmes. :)
-
GREAT STUFF!!!!!
-
I had seen that issue before but missing the Scarab origin, and I was delighted to finally be able to read the origin story.
Thank you very much,
Jon
-
Great to see new Nedors! Many thanks!
-
Thanks BC, keep up the great work!
I've renamed this topic as well.

Two Scarabs? Sounds like a case of beetlemania.
-
It was great to finally read the first and next-to-last appearances of the Scarab!
A big, belated "Thanks!" for posting not only Exciting #48, but also and perhaps most importantly the complete Startling #34!
This means we now have the complete run of the Scarab (all 9 tales). And the scans look great, too.
So thanks again, Mr. Holmes!

It is kinda oddly satisfying to be able to upload a book, and then, less than half a week later, it's already been downloaded over 100 times.
-
Being a brain in a jar, even seeing and typing is a big accomplishment! *wink*
Seriously, congrats on the popular scans BC
:)
-
I agree BC. I like to see that my efforts are not wasted. But I also am willing to scan the less popular titles because there is always someone looking for them. Romance comics may not get as many hits but those that want 'em want 'em. If no one scanned them they might just disappear.
-
It's been a little while, but I got my hands on a new book: The Face, #1. (I like Marvelo, and this has another Marvelo story in it).
-
Be on the lookout for it BC, whenever you are ready with it.

I uploaded it through the web form last night. Did it disappear?
Edit: Oh, hey. There it is in the Columbia section.
-
Thanks BC, a pretty 'creepy' looking character by the way too.

I've just web-form-uploaded The Black Terror number 19.
-
Thanks very much BC!
Now up! :)
-
Thanks for filling in another missing Black Terror issue, bcholmes. :D
-
And one more: a web-form-upload of Fighting Yank #4.
This was probably the hardest books I've ever tried to scan. The original has a number of flaws, including a glued spine, and misaligned fold.
-
Very cool, thanks BC,
Now Up!
And again, my apologies for the Anniversary list slight.
Keep up the great work - full VIP status now granted as well.
:)
-
You rock, BC. Thanks for that Fighting Yank. :D

Well, it's been a while since I last uploaded, but I picked up a copy of Black Terror #18 and just scanned it today. I was surprised not to see a cover image on the confirm screen, so I hope that all went well.
I must also confess that this issue really challenged me as I was scanning it. I think the Oompah story really fits into a long racist tradition of depiction of black people, and I did find myself wondering, "why am I helping to archive racism?" I guess that one must be prepared to confront the brutal truth of history, but it's a bitter pill to swallow.
Anyway, other than Black Terror #1, and three unscanned issues in the JVJ collection, I think Black Terror is almost complete.

Hi BC
I just checked you upload and I see the page order is buggered. Your covers appear after pg9 due to leaving out one '0'
You'd need to rename it 'black_terror_018_000a_fc', etc for them to appear at the front.
My suggestion lately has been to start all file names with numbers before anything else to avoid any troubles -
ie 000-black_terror_018_fc, 001-black_terror_018_ifc, etc
Could you reupload this with the correction BC?
Thanks!

Eeep. Sure thing. I think the new version should be uploaded, now.
Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks BC!
My upload speeds are Terrible so this was much quicker than I would have managed.
And the scan looks very nice, lovely to see a new Nedor scan of this popular title as well.
:)

Honestly, I think you need to look at it in the context of the time. That can be difficult, but it's certainly no worse than the depiction of black people in something like "Gone With The Wind."
Anyway, thanks so much for the new issue of Black Terror. :D

Gosh darnit!
I just got something really exciting in the mail, and my scanner's being difficult. (My scanner has never really enjoyed being asked to work with OS X Lion).
BC
-
B as a fellow Mac user that is why I haven't upgrade to Lion yet, just because of my scanner software will not working with OSX 7. I've been checking for a few months now, and still no upgrade yet. So I feel you pain.

Okay, I managed to coax it with sweet words and a big stick. I've uploaded Fighting Yank #1.
I gotta say that I'm kinda chuffed about this.

WOW!
Wonderful to see this on the site BC!
Thanks so much for sharing it. I made a small note that it's not that 'other' copy floating around that we can't share on the site due to it's watermark.
Thanks again!
:)
-
One of the best additions I've seen so far! Thanks.

I was glad to get ahold of a copy without breaking the bank.

PS - When did you become the Yoc Reaper? High-larious.
-
Hehe, thanks for noticing.
It's from my edit of Wonder Comics #8. Annoyingly whomever uploaded it onto DCM/GAC removed my favourite Monkey_NFO page. >:(
But if you'd like to see it you can still use the thumbnail I added -
http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?ACT=browser&id=1966 (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?ACT=browser&id=1966)
I was very happy with that one and kept forgetting to use it as an avatar.
Thanks again for the great upload!
:D

I haven't uploaded in a while. But I just put a new one into the queue for the admins to do their thing with:
Startling Comics #1 (full paper version)
