You might have noticed in last few days the site has been down now and again.
Just wanted to let you know that we are aware of the problem and hoping it been fixed now. It's been a mixture of problems and we are now monitoring the server closely over the next few days to make sure it doesn't happen again.
It something we don't want to become a regular issue so we have hopefully fixed this problem early on before it becomes a major issue.

If we should be off-line again please bookmark and use the Back-Up forum here-

Thanks for the heads up; I was wondering (and a little worried!)

Thanks for acknowledging the (hopefully) temporary situation. I wasn't able to raise either the main site or this forum a few times lately, but I wasn't particularly worried that I would never be able to use either site again. I've accepted the idea the Museum will be around for a good long while.

And thanks for all the hard work getting us back on line Captain DJ.

Thanks Cap for all the hard work you do for us.

Turns out we had some crappy RAM in our server which was causing server to crash now and again.
It been swapped for better quality stuff so fingers crossed no more downtime.

Glad you caught this early on. I also had a problem accessing the donation page.

This thread becomes apropos again. Welcome back, DCM. Where ya been?

Yes, indeed, I'm glad you're back, DCM. After the recent death of Comicsworld, I was sweatin' bullets over DCM during its absence! Thanks again, so very much, for the force of good you provide for us comics scholars... those of us who actually want to READ and STUDY the comics, and not hoard them in sealed lucite tombs. Long may you live and be fruitful!
-
Thank you for all of your hard work.

I'm not quite sure what caused the most recent downtime, but a flurry of e-mail got things back up and running. I was mostly useless; I can be quite busy on my days off but I have almost no free time during my work week. As far as I know, most thanks go to Aussie, John C, and Geo.

Yay! You're back! SO happy to see you're up. :P

Great news, we're back in business again. Thanks goes out to "ALL" that helped on this.

As far as I know, most thanks go to Aussie, John C, and Geo.
Other than sending up a red flag (and opening the "emergency forum" again--see the top of the thread, all, in case anything like this happens again), I didn't touch a thing. From what little I can gather, it sounds like it was just a "hey, what up?" call to the host, thankfully, and not a technical disaster.
Which, since I'm really glad things are back up and running, is a good time for a polite round of applause to the people who actually "make site go," I think.

My thanks to those who keep this site going. Nothing like a few days out of action for the value of the site to be especially appreciated. I uploaded a recent scan, in the meantime, to GAC and will forthwith upload it here. Both sites have their virtues (not always the same ones), and even just having one of them down and not working makes for nervousness about keeping this work archived. :-[

I was out of town for two weeks so I too thank the staff for getting DCM back up and keeping it going.
