Hi Gang,
We are happy to present our second member designed banner for DCM!  (Michael T. Gilbert's Halloween banner was the first for those wondering.  Thanks Mike!  :) )
From Eric Williams (zoink) we get a nicely done job of capturing the eternal dilemma of so many comics and so little time!  ;)

Eric runs Luminous Robots -web design and graphics - http://luminousrobots.com (http://luminousrobots.com)

Eric also is the designer behind  'The American Rabbit Wakes Up' (https://web.archive.org/web/20161027043513/http://www.theamericanrabbit.com/).  Sadly no longer being updated but well worth a look to see the great job he did using images found in the DCM collection and manipulating them into some wonderful work!

Many thanks to Eric for all he's done for us!  If anyone else would like to create a banner just send me a Private Message.  Note - it would be immensely easier for you all if you are a PhotoShop user as the DCM banner template is in that format.

Take care and have a happy and safe summer everyone,
-Yoc

That is one fun banner!
Thank you for doing this.
I think I recognize the artwork in these panels.
It's a Moldoff head followed by two Gershwin faces.
Kinda creepy, innit?

Michael T. agrees with your Gershwin guess Mr T.
Perhaps Eric will tell us his sources for the panels.

That’s great animation you did— thanks, Yoc! Yes the last two faces are by Emil Gershwin, who is maybe my very favorite comic artist. Those are taken from Adventures Into The Unknown #14 pages 13 and 14, December 1950.

I've linked to DCM pages in my database every time I find Gershwin art, so I have over 400 pages indexed. I used him for two cast member faces in the rabbit series.

The first face in the banner is from Worlds of Fear #10, page 11, June 1953.

I didn’t know the artist’s name on that one, as my artist spotting skills are not too good yet. I’ll be looking at more Moldoff art. The name only appears once in my database, linking to a JVJ index card.

Thanks for the background info on the banner Eric.
And I'm glad you enjoy the animation I added.  I thought the gradient effect behind the first panel was particularly effective in a Hitchcock 'Vertigo' way.
:)

Yes, exactly -- the Vertigo effect is perfect!

JVJ an me looked at all the Fawcett horror books - and saw Sheldon Moldoff's art very dominantly in there.
I worked all the info into the Grand Comics Database.
You can have an inside look into FAWCETT & CHARLTON HORROR by studying the website I did about those:

Tilliban, that's a very impressive site, an unbelievably huge amount of information, and I've not read it all yet. I think you're too hard on Sheldon Moldoff, but your comments are understandable. I was recognizing his art in various books, but I didn't have a name until now.
