I heard about the previous issue with spammer virus on the comments page. I take it I should not be getting the pop up ads clicking on a DCM link, but I do.

Hi AD,
Thanks for letting us know. I've tried to see if I had the same problem but everything seems fine.
I turned off any security add-ons and tried it in FireFox and Brave. Both had zero pop-ups.
Has anyone else out there had the same problem?
AD here uses Safari on mac. Any Mac people have something to add?
Let us know.

It seems to be the headline links from the home page, not the individual links. Recreated on Mac, iPad, Windows 11 with Safari, Chrome and Edge browsers.

I can confirm the pop-ups when using Chrome without any ad or pop-up blockers turned on.
I'm embarrassed by the number of Google Ads that are appearing. They've gotten far worse than when I last looked at the site without ad blockers running.
:(

I can confirm installing ad blocker worked for me. It seems like the "pop-up" ads just started recently, more like a redirection until you click out of it. Pop-up blockers do not block it!

I think they are called 'Pop-overs'. I have the same thing happening on my tablet when I sue a news aggregator app I used to love until this crap started happening. I have to close the app to get back to the news. The ads have no 'x' to click.
I had no idea anything like this was going on here on DCM.

Hi Larry,
You might consider giving FireFox, with the NoScript add-on I'm ad free here.
