Title: Access to database
Post by: Abbakusbox on October 23, 2015, 06:22:03 AM
Hi,

I launch a start up called Abbakus that want to democratize information based in Paris.
I am actually looking for interesting and valuable content. Thank you DCM, the content is amazing.

Is it possible to access/share the database ?

Thank you.

It's worth mentioning that the DCM database, as such, probably isn't very useful to anybody outside of the DCM programmers.  Ignoring private user data, it really just maps the names of the real disk files on the server to the names people look for and keeps track of how many times the files have been downloaded.

Anybody who wants actual information about comics is more likely to want the Grand Comics Database (http://www.comics.org/) database, available under a Creative Commons Attribution licensed.

Hi Abbakusbox,
I'm one of the tech volunteers at the GCD- if you'd like to see what's going on with tech work, such as discussions and work on a forthcoming API, you should check out the gcd-tech mailing list at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/gcd-tech
That's also a good place to ask for help interpreting the available database dumps.
