Title: Christmas hyphens & recreations
Post by: freddyfly on December 25, 2018, 10:26:11 PM
Nice to see those Fawcett Xmas comics, but one question & one request:
What's with the hyphens? The comic's name is 'Xmas' (by the way, for history/language buffs, the 'X' isn't an 'eks'... it's the Greek letter 'khi' which is the first letter in the Greek spelling of Christmas, so basically it should be Chmas, or Ch-mas for hyphen fans).

Would it be possible to add Which comics were used in the recreations? Please? These 'recycled'  issues contained one of each of 4 or 5 unsold comics from the previous year; there could be dozens of different issues.

It is wonderful to have these recreations.

So far I have only glanced at the issues. But, far as I can tell, all the indicia are included. IIRC, some of the books included are Captain Marvel Adventures #3, Master Comics #15, Wow Comics #2. A comment on each issue's link-page should help.

Re: Xmas comics.
The symbol for the Greek letter 'chi' is actually an elongated 'x' ('chi' is the pronunciation, 'x' is the symbol). So 'Xmas', rather than 'chimas' is correct.
