True-to-Life Romances 007 (Star) Uploaded 4-15-24
Edited for readability and fixing damage. (no color correction)
Front cover was wrecked so there is some aesthetic editing that is not true to actual cover.

Young Romance only features Kirby’s stories and usually contains two stories, that’s why the numbering is lower than the stories contained in the issue.  Crestwood Love focuses on Meskin romance work which started commenced in Young Romance #16.

Thanks DCM! Nice to see this one is still available....  Not yet "copy-Protected" by Warner. I see where some of the copy protected issues are available from "the Comic Guy", if you can find them?

Always enjoy these discoveries at Digital Comic Museum. Fred Guardineer was one of the greatest artists of the pre-code era. He did a cover or two in the 70s but I heard he stepped away from comics after the code was implemented in the 50s. He worked for the postal service and retired after a 20 year career....so I heard?

Hmmm, I can see your confusion here Irek.
I think 'VOLUME' instead of number might have been a better choice.  These are collections of various stories, not direct recreations of specific issues.

Hmm. To have Crestwood Love #1 reprint Young Romance #16, and then have Young Romance #16 reprint Young Romance #23? That is a real head-scratcher...

Comic Name: CNCC Classic Comics - Young Romance #16 (88.58 MB)
Description: CNCC Classic Comics are digitally remastered reprints of Golden Age comics, focusing primarily on the output of Jack Kirby and Mort Meskin during their tenure at Prize Comics Group.  The restorations begin by chemically removing the color from an original copy of the comic.  The line art is then tightened to remove printing imperfections and other errors.  Finally, the art is re-colored using a palette of solid tones derived from samples of the original coloring.

Young Romance collects stories drawn by Jack Kirby.  Stories are reprinted chronologically, though the series numbering here begins after the material reprinted in Fantagraphic’s Young Romance 2.  Older issues will be added as they are refreshed for presentation at DCM.

Thanks, Supermack, for uploading this rare Golden Age Funny Animal comic book.  I've been looking for it for years.  Now we are missing only Numbers 3 and 4.
