-
story 2 pg no holes
-
missing centerfold story pg 1 and pg 2
-
Joan Mason story missing intro page and missing 5th page
-
And missing internal back cover. Enjoy!
-
Hi hufflepuffle,
Thanks very much for providing these fills. They are very nice, and they complete the scan. I had to rename one of the existing pages to make room for the new files: the original scan page previously named bluebeetle3423.jpg should be renamed to bluebeetle3427.jpg.
There are two other damaged pages in the current scan that could also be upgrades, if your copy of the book has them. They would be pages 3 and 4 of the Joan Mason story, for which you provide pages 1 and 2. If you could also scan those pages, then we will have no damaged pages.
Thanks again for your help in completing this issue.
-
Oh! I just sent HP a link to upload them all to.
If you had those other two pages that Moose mentioned that would be great HP!
-Yoc
-
Ok, here's the last two pages. Think this completes/upgrades this one! DarkMark & Soothsayer helped me complete some other nice collections (Timely scans) elsewhere, so now I return the favor a little. (http://www.sympato.ch/smileys/ola.gif)

Thanks HP!
:)
-
Just uploaded hufflepuffle's completed version!
-
Thanks DM.
I'm almost done working on a version where I'm trying to make hufflepuffle's match the existing one better.
I hope you don't mind. It's now up gang.

Ok folks, kids of all ages. I just uploaded a very much sought after Blue Beetle issue to the Fox Blue Beetle collection. One of the Jack Kamen issues I was able to find at a price I could afford and share the wealth here. Blue Beetle #47!. Issues of this one have gone for as much as 6,000!
I didn't make a thumbnail, though or the number of the comics database link. Maybe others can. Also the back cover wasn't very good. Perhaps someone can use the HAG one if they like it better.
-
I should say once the staff approves it. I uploaded it to the database here with the upload link.
-
Thanks very much HP! :)
I'm going to add that you used a digital camera to do this as well right?
-
Thanks very much HP! :)
I'm going to add that you used a digital camera to do this as well right?
Yes. I couldn't use my scanner with this one. So I used my Sony camera and pan zoomed as well as possible. Guess I forgot to strip the metadata.
-
No worries HP. Thanks for sharing it!
:)

Alrighty folks! Just in time for Memorial Day, I'm uploading a huge find and massive 52 page Blue Beetle #32 anti-Nazi issue comic!! (well 51 out of 52 pages). No internal back cover or ibc. This one was a big one and took a long time to scan and crop to get mostly respectable looking in my comics viewer. The staff can peruse, edit, or whatever they need to for approval. I just uploaded to the database. Cheers! (http://www.sympato.ch/smileys/ola.gif)
-
Thanks again HP!
I'm going to add a better fc and bc scan and see if I can do some cleaning on some of the pages.

-
Blue Beetle 32 is now up!
Thanks very much for sharing it HP!
:D
-
Hi folks.
I've got some more paper fills for Blue Beetle. I've got the text story for Blue Beetle #51 and the last ad page. I guess it could be added into Yoc's old scan. Only page missing would be ibc.
-
Here's the ad. Maybe another fox comic scan has a better version?
-
According to GCD, there were 5 other Fox issues with a publication date of December 1947: Jo-Jo #9, Sunny #11, Zoot #11, All Great #13 and Phantom Lady #15. We have scans for all of those except the All Great, and all of them have the same last page, ibc and bc. I think it would be a safe bet that Blue Beetle #51 has the same ibc as the rest of these books. If that is not convincing enough, I just did a quick "mirror read" of one of the back cover scans on Heritage's site, and I can see portions of the Miller and Company ad from the ibc.
So, if someone wants to create a composite scan with the current BB #51 scan, hufflepuffle's two text pages, and the best versions of the Jowett Institute and Miller and Company ads from the books I listed, we will have a complete scan of that book. I would suggest Sunny #11.

Thanks A Nonny Moose! I just did that and now I'll see if I can upload to the database as update c2c version!
-
Thanks for the upgrade HP. It's now up on the site.

Alrighty folks. It's here! Early 10 year gift, Target v1 #7! (https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/forum/Smileys/yarex2/shocked.gif)(https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/forum/Smileys/yarex2/azn.gif)

File is approved and ready for people to grab. Thank you so much for this one!
-
Wow, what a wonderful surprise posting!! Thanks so much for helping complete the Spacehawk run HP!
You Rock! :D
-Yoc
-
Nice! Everett, Burgos, Wolverton, Mills, and other pioneers! IMO, the greatest part of Target Comics long run has just started.
-
I've upgraded the FC and added a BC to HP's file. Now up.

Have some Green Mask fills for vol. 1 Green Mask #5. Don't have the cover. From looking at the mycomic site of LoneStar Comics, there is an auction for a vol. 1 Green Mask #5 on April 6. It is in fair condition.
I can fill the front page and back page. 1,2,63, and 64.
-
Ok. Hopefully someone can add these fills for an update to Green Mask vol 1 #5. Only need ifc and ibc now. (https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/forum/Smileys/yarex2/smiley.gif)

Hello hufflepuffle,
The scans for pages 1 and 64 look very crisp, but the scans for pages 2 and 63 look a bit out of focus, and as though they were not scanned flat. Did you take those pictures with a camera? I assume you were trying not to damage the book by scanning the inside pages, but the quality will be much better if you can get a flat scan of it. If you can't, I understand.
It also looks like there are a few rectangular regions that were copied / pasted on pages 2 and 63, to replace missing page corners or page numbers. I am thinking that one of the scanners or editors here could attempt a better repair job, if you have the original images.
Thanks for providing these!
-
Hello,
Ok. I didn't realize the quality of two of the pages were that bad. I don't like to press the flatbad door on my books as it's destructive. I guess I need to try one of those cheaper overhead document scanner cams.
I rescanned page 2 and 63 with some careful holding. See if these are better.
-
Hello HP,
Page 63 looks great, but it looks like page 2 might have moved while the scan was taking place. If you look at the vertical panel borders, you will notice that they aren't straight lines.
It might be possible to correct that deformation in a graphics editor, but it would be tricky. If you can try one more rescan on page 2, I think it would help. I would be willing to do the page reconstruction to replace the missing bits in the corners (although it would take some guesswork, unless I can find a reprint of those story pages.)
Thanks again for doing this!
-
Thanks for working on these fills for us HP and Moose.
:)
-
I think this is the best version I can get of page two. The panels were printed at an angle on this book.
-
Thanks very much HP, that last scan is a big improvement.
I will see what I can do with these pages now. If anyone knows of any auction images or other sources that would show the missing lower corners of these pages, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just leave them empty in my edits.
-
I don't have anything to help.
Thanks for doing this guys!

Ok,
Been out of here for a while and had other serious issues going on. Now going to try and post some more goodies for the 10 year anniversary.
Here's Cosmo Cat #1. Think you can take this off of your unscanned list now.
-
Another one is the missing Babe #6
I used a different front cover image and ifc ad, as my copy has a corner missing. Love the Boody Rogers artwork, and cartoon easter eggs he left in these comics.
-
Thank you for the books, hufflepuffle! I approved the Babe #6, but the Cosmo Cat has the pages numbered in such a way that they show up out of order. They need to be 01, 02, 03...
I can edit the book and post and approve a corrected version, or you can do the edits yourself. Just let me know.
-
Wow, thanks so much HP!
Some nice books and hole fillers on the site as well.
Bravo! :)
-
Ok. I edited the page numbers for Cosmo Cat re-uploaded. The ad is 003 and not out of place. It's the 1st wrap page after the ifc. The rest of the pages should be in complete order as numbered.
Cover, ifc, ad, Roscoe Bear, then the Cosmo Cat stories, etc.
-
It's up now, hufflepuffle. Thank you again!
-
Ok. Have some more (previously unscanned) books! Will be uploading this one. ^-^
Cosmocat #2
-
Now up!
Thanks very much for filling another hole like this HP.
:)
-
Hi all. Have haven't been on here for a while. But I did find some more books. I have another book I will be uploading soon to help fill the run of this comic.
*Ok, I uploaded it*
Cheers!
-
Thanks HP!
Sorry for taking so long to activate it. Life got strangle on our end but it's there now!
:D
-
Sorry about the delay. I didn't see your original post.
Boody Rogers is great.
-
Found the authentic back for Blue Beetle #32.
First pic is from a comic book store copy. The replacement is another ad that I re-edited and de-colored to make it look like the original. This internal back cover would make BB #32 c2c.
-
Here's the BB #32 IBC ad pic.
-
Thanks HP!
-
Ok. So to go along with my other post. Here is one to complete the Rocket Kelly series. Rocket Kelly #1! Enjoy.

Nicely done HP!
I checked the file as I do everyone and noticed an extra .ds file which I removed. Not a big deal. The rest of the file is fine. I noticed the cover is much smaller than the rest so I took a look around on the net.
I found a bigger version of the cover on Heritage Auctions. May I add it to the file as well, while keeping your own also? No problem if you want it as-is.

Yes, you can replace the front cover with a larger better scan if you find one.
-
Thanks HP, it's now up!
Man, I love that fun cover. Great stuff!

Thanks, HP!
This is another comic hit by war-time paper rationing. Thirty-six pages total, instead o sixty-four.

Thanks very much HP!
Lovely to see new scans from you like this. :D
I tweaked your files to remove the .ds file and added a leading zero to the first nine files. Just to be sure they appeared in proper order in our Preview feature and for anyone still using older comic reader apps like CDisplay.
Stay well,

Cheers Yoc,
