Anyone watch 'The Cape' last night?
It felt like a 70s Marvel to me.

Watched the first two off the DVR. Bad. Better than Smallville, but still horrible. Cliche after cliche.

It's not ground breaking but I'm willing to give it a chance to mature.
It's no Walking Dead for sure which shocked me when I actually liked it.

I really, really dislike The Cape. First off, the circus he joins up with -- what is the first thing they do? They rob a bank at gunpoint and he helps! Can you imagine any other superhero in that genre doing anything like that? He is a criminal hanging with a criminal gang. No hero. Not at all. Terrible, terrible scripting to have him do that.

Yeah, that was an odd way to introduce his mentor...

It's really nothing new. Stan Lee had such characters as Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver start out as villains and/or working with villains as mentors back in the 1960s. All of them eventually left the crime connections behind to become full fledged heroes.

I saw a portion of it and was underwhelmed. I don't plan on watching it.

I finally had a chance to watch an episode; I can't say I was disappointed because I had low expectations but I'm not sorry I can't watch it on a regular basis.
