using public domain comics to design Toy/collectables
« on: February 20, 2019, 03:35:45 AM »
Hi All

Just wondering what can be done with Public domain comics, I'm in the process of designing toys/collectables based of "Golden Age comics", I've been working on some of the spaceships drawn in Space Detective.  I've never sold any of my designs but was wondering if it would be even be legal?

Does public domain mean I can legal use them for the base of my designs?   I guess I will need to ask a lawyer, but I though I would start here :)

Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve,
If you check in the FAQ section you will see we have a topic on business use questions.  And you are right, we strongly suggest a lawyer be consulted before anything.
