How many total comics are there in the public domain?

I try to do new numbers on the first of each month.

No clue on the total number actually in PD.

Well, there is that list of comics still needed for scanning, so one could add the unscanned to the scanned and get a closer number.


But yeah, the true number will probably be a guess as it seems like new works turn up occasionally that would qualify as a comic books/cartoon collections & are in the PD.
