Photoshop Elements

Thought I'd share this item among fellow scanners/editors.

39% Black Friday sale off Photoshop Elements for mac or pc from Amazon (with Prime) - for those who may need or was looking for something to edit comics with.

I'll be going for a copy myself - it has the important stuff such as heal, stamp tool (very useful for removing fingers from the book), color balance, and so forth, while not being the same as the full fledged photoshop program.

If anyone has any comments please share - I'd love to hear your thoughts before I click on "BUY" by tomorrow afternoon.

Hi Sooth, You really can't go wrong with Elements.  I've used the full PhotoShop program for years ( I'm part of the stone age when PhotoShop was called something else, Streamline?) and I've used early versions of Photoshop Elements.  My only problem with the programs are the toolbars, there are a bunch of them  ;)  and they have a different setup in both product. This isn't a real problem if you use just one or the other program-you get use to the toolbars. Elements has all of the functions you need for comic editing and is MUCH cheaper than the full version PhotoShop.  I have an older version of PhotoShop (CS3) and if it ever stops working, I would switch to Elements in a heartbeat.  There are tutorials online that help with both programs. Just don't let the toolbars put you off, jump in and enjoy  ;)

I've only tried Elements once but it seems a great product.  Easily powerful enough for anyone wanting to try their hand at editing a comic scan.

Thanks for the comments.  I've been a photoshop user ever since the early 1990's.

By the way - I was wrong on the savings.  The retail price is/was $99, Amazon was showing it for $59, but if you have Prime membership, it will knock off another $20 when you check-out, so the final price is $39.  Definitely can't go wrong here.

These days don't most/all Adobe art products have a monthly tax/fee/ attached to them? For cloud storage or something.

Take a look at the GIMP. Its free, works on several platforms (including Linux), and does most/all that PS does.
