Hi Folks, glad to found you. So I am author of free and open source program called "Comic Smart Panels Creator & Viewer", in which you can create and view "smart panels" for CBR/CBZ files (like Comixology Guided View or Marvel Unlimited). It has recently been mentioned on ComicsBeat by miss Heidi MacDonald (former DC Comics Editor for Vertigo) (http://www.comicsbeat.com/new-open-source-comic-smart-panels-allows-you-to-make-your-own-animated-comics/). I would really like for you to find software useful and use it regular. I am currently translating The Eagle 001 for Guided View technology, and will post it here once it's done.

Hi Z,
If you mean Fox's The Eagle #1 I'd be interested to see how it works.  If it's something newer than 1959 we can't share it on the site.

Looks like your software is Windows only. Do you plan to support any other platforms?

sorry for the late reply, I am kinda very busy for the last few days. To answer your questions, yes - I am working on smart panels for Eagle #1 from year 1941 I believe (I found it on this site), it would be interesting to see how it all works (as old comics are made on, well, old way) :-)
I do not support piracy on any kind. I hope this application would be beneficial to comic lovers who download comics on legal way, to individual comic authors or Indie publishers who do not want Comixology or iVerse platforms.

Application (Creator) is made using .NET Framework Win Forms, so It could probably run on Linux also (MONO Framework), but haven't tested. Viewer is WPF application, but it is more of a technology demo than a "real viewer". I am hoping other viewers would adapt smart panels you create with creator program (they are regular JSON files), so we could potentially have iPad application with smart panels (which I am dying to see!)

I thought about something like this when we were putting together the Comic Viewer we use online at this site but it was just an idea at the time and died with all my other ideas.

It's an interesting concept and great that's it is open source so going to take a look at your concept when I get time and will post you feedback.
