I wouldn't call this a "Canadian white", since the story pages are in color. According to Wikipedia, Canadian whites are WWII era Canadian comics with color covers and black & white interiors. It's also a bit late to be called "WWII era".

Fair points.  I've always lumped Superior into the 'whites' era by habit even knowing their colour history.

Canadian comics publishers wanted to stay in business, and as the US comic books were again allowed to be imported into Canada, and they were all printed in full colour, the Canadian publishers had to switch to full colour to try and compete.  Most of them failed in that regard, as their markets not limited ton Canada, but also including The UK, were too small to be able to turn a profit, when paying for full-colour printing.  The last couple had to import US comic books and drop their own, in-house production, just to remain in business. By late 1947, there was almost no domestic story production left (only a few gag pages), other than Superior Publishing, who made most of their profits by importing US lines.
