Hello there folks,
I posted a while back about hunting for good, kid-friendly comics to post on my kids' website.
Well after some starts and stops, I've finally got around to mining Digital Comic Museum for some features.
You can see our first comic post here. To see the little promo banner for the post (while it remains in the "rotation", go here and wait a moment or two).
Anyway, I just wanted thank all the scanners out there for their time and effort. Hopefully, comics like these will find fans in a whole new generation.

As last time, feel free to post some more ideas for kid-friendly features.
I hope to post one or two a week (and provide multiple links to DCM each time!).

Finally, if I need to provide additional credits (such as the scanner's name) I will be happy to do so. Just let me know what I need to do!  :)

Our newest addition is "The Story of Perceval" from "Jack in the Box" No. 14.

Check it out here: http://ydtalk.com/jdispatch/2012/11/22/the-story-of-percival/

I did some minor Photoshop work to bring out the blacks and eliminate some of the more off-register colors.

I, for one, like to see really crisp blacks even if some of the color suffers.

The plan is to try to get something up every Thursday, but it will depend on how much work it is to prepare a particular set of pages.

Today I added a story from Walt Kelly's "Fairy Tale Parade." It isn't a great story or a great effort by Kelly, but I needed it to be a short story, not a 20-pager!

Check it out here: http://ydtalk.com/jdispatch/2012/11/29/a-cartoon-tale-from-ireland/

Depending on your target age I think Kelly's work on Peter Wheat was amazing.

Yeah, I agree. It's really good, and it will probably be in the line up.
Right now I am trying to sample several genres. And, at the least, I want to offer stories that appeal to girls on alternating weeks. That will probably prove to be the hardest, since girl-friendly stories seem to be the ones that look dated.

This week's comic is an episode of "The Brain," which I assume is by Dan DeCarlo.

Read it here: http://ydtalk.com/jdispatch/2012/12/07/a-comic-starring-the-smartest-kid-in-the-world/

GCD is a great place to check things AJ.
It says it's all DeCarlo - http://www.comics.org/issue/247522/

Finally got a chance to add the next comic.

This time we feature a Suzie story from MLJ.

Enjoy!

The newest addition is from "Red" Rabbit comics ... a Tom & Jerry-like set-up featuring a cat and a canary.

Here it is: http://ydtalk.com/jdispatch/2013/01/17/pete-and-tweet-on-a-milky-way-mission/

Go to the main page to see the "slider" graphic I created for it. http://ydtalk.com/jdispatch

Further, I checked out a lot of the "Red" Rabbit books, at DCM and elsewhere. There's some really great stuff in them!

It's been a while, but I finally had time to clean up another comic story for Junior Dispatch.

This time, we take a look at the post-Code shenanigans of the "Man in Black," a nice piece of work by Bob Powell: http://ydtalk.com/jdispatch/2013/04/05/meet-the-hand-of-fate/

You should find some good stuff to use in the foxy fagan comics: http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?cid=698
Fagan was done by eisenberg (same as pete & tweet) and joe barbera (co-creator of tom & jerry).
