Ger Apeldoorn asking about future scans

<< < (4/5) > >>

JVJ (RIP):
I think the second paragraph of Ger's message was referring to Mad MAGAZINE imitations rather than the comic book mimics. I don't know about the rest of you, I would very much welcome an article or book on that subject.

Their heyday came immediately after the Atlas Implosion when the available talent outweighed the available jobs in comic books. Hence, a new (or new-ish) medium flourished to take advantage of the surplus. GREAT stuff (artistically) abounds and a book would be the perfect way to show it all off. Let's hope it happens.

If they are in the public domain then sure, I think they'd be great for the site.

Actually, they way they were bound would mean a lot of them would be ruined by scanning...

tilliban:
I was surprised (scanning Jim's books) how LITTLE I actually ruined them.
A somewhat preserved book will survive a scan without probably noticing the job inflicted.
A really poor book will have one or the other page detached.

But I can get my hands on a professional digicam photographing equipment.
I have a photographer standing by and the special device for photographing books.
I've been meaning to try this method.
I'd be honored if you consider sending me a "test batch" of books of your choice.

narfstar:
Thanks Geo it had slipped through the cracks on my end. I will need to delete duplicate files.
