Some users may find useful the following site as alternative source of golden age comics ;)
http://sites.google.com/site/goldenagecomicsproject/ace-comics
The full collection of Ace comics can be downloaded from there using bittorrent.
On the same site you can find also links to several torrents of Magazine Enterprises and Prize comics.

I've heard about downloading by 'torrents', but do not know how it works. Could anyone explain - or steer me to - a simple practical method to get me started in torrent downloading?
John C:
Larry, install a BitTorrent client (I use uTorrent/microTorrent on Windows, but there are many that work fine), then open the .torrent file in the links with the program and wait. The download speed is based on how many people are sharing the files you want, basically, since you're downloading pieces from random peers.
Note that, to avoid copyright holder harassment, many ISPs will assume that using BitTorrent MUST mean that you're engaging in piracy and sabotage your download connections, so it may not work, but that's the idea. I think that makes it important to try and complain to the ISP, to make it clear that piracy isn't its only use.
(And as a side note, if you're also using Tor for privacy reasons, please don't run the BitTorrent traffic through the network. It'll slow down your download to a crawl and limit the use of the entire network for people who need anonymity.)
