numbers of missing issues
John C:
I think the most surprising thing isn't the specific numbers so much as the simple distance we've gotten from the days of, "ooh, someone posted an entire six-page story to their website." Whereas someplace like Wikipedia can boast thousands of users adding tiny contributions in their passing free time, we have scanners spending days at a time, in some cases, huddled over a scanner so that we can freely download their sometimes-expensive prizes.
While the numbers are impressive (and I love having them, so thanks for doing the grunt work, Darkmark), think about how much volunteer manual and technical labor that involves, and almost none of it happened with any coordination. Sure, we have most of the run of Daredevil, and that's amazing, but much more amazing is how it happened, in my eyes.
And Jim just pointed out in another thread how game-changing that becomes for research. Ten years ago, it'd be nearly impossible to accurately talk about the evolution of a character, writing or artistic styles, or any number of other things, because getting the books in your hand was a huge undertaking. Now, that's almost routine.
And you're a nice bunch of guys (and gals), to boot!

Well said as always John.
I'm very proud to know such a dedicated, passionate and genuinely nice group as the GA scanners all seem to be.
Fantastic work guys! :D

Wow, we're getting close on a lot of titles.
What's also impressive is the list that ISN'T there: The books with ZERO missing issues.
