Thanks T!
As this is just adding to an existing scan I've renamed it to add 'upgrade'.

Of course, Yoc, do your thing.
I'm not sure, what is to be labeled how.

Today it's war, genre-wise, don't panic.

Hi T,
Upgrades are existing scans improved with additional pages or better scans but basically the same scan as before.
(dif ver) are a completely new scan of a book that has already been scanned.

I think that covers it.

Thanks for the latest.

Say, I hope SunDanceTrance is doing Ok.  We haven't heard from him in quite a while.

You know, I coaxed SunDanceTrance into scanning some horror books, but he's really not into that kind of thing.

I'm meeting the guy, in fact TOMORROW.
I'll be attending the comics festival in München (Munich to you) over the weekend.

There are some interesting exhibitions (Underground comix, tribute to Crumb, 75 years Superman, Wertham and the Comics Code) - and Denis Kitchen will appear in person. Gonna have a look.

So I'm signing out with my last Ace romance scan:

TEN-STORY LOVE vol 36 #1 (205)

There's lots more at Jim's home in California, but I'm done with these - for now.
Going to start a batch of romance from Story/Master. Soon.

Hi T,
Hey, we'd be happy to hear from Sun anytime he can manage it.
And by no means is anyone limited to one genre or another when sharing.

Have fun at the convention and say Hi to SDT for everyone here on DCM.
:)

Love the hat, Yoc!
Been diligent making contacts in Munich.
I'll be experimenting with digi cam pictures instead of scanning.
Got the go from a German collector to shoot his books.
Will meet the man in August and photograph a few missing pre-code horror books.
Maybe we can use that digi cam operation to get more from SundanceTrance.

Saw Denis Kitchen live. Sat in a room (a dark and small beer den) with him and only a dozen other people.
Denis told fabulous stories about his encounters with Eisner and Kurtzman.
The turnout was so meager because the whole of Bavaria is currently drowning in historic rainfalls.
Probably a late deluge for publishing underground comix.
I got soaking wet myself running around and looking for the event.

Anyway, I'm back home and dry - to present you with a personal copy scan of

TOMB OF TERROR #5

Beloved Harvey title, sporting two classics: "Rat Man" from Powell and "Head of the Medusa" from Palais.

Till if you can get any pics of some non-English stuff that CB+ can use we would appreciate it. You can check the kind of stuff already there for ideas. We are a little less cautious than DCM.

For sure digital photos are an option but whenever possible I'd encourage a traditional scan.
CadetEd is using his own user made digital cameral apparatus and gotten some good results.
Lighting and background seem to be very important to the final product.

Good luck and glad you got to enjoy the convention despite the rain that seems to be unending in Europe these days.

Keep in mind that, only a few years ago, Rangerhouse's scanner would have been considered a camera.  They do a great job, assuming it can be held steady and the lighting is good.

True enough John but also keep in mind that Rangerhouse's scanner cost him several thousand dollars and was designed to photograph paper sources.  Your typical digital camera was not.  It is possible to do so but there is a lot involved.  Just ask CadetEd.  :)

Yehehes, digi cam shots are tricky!
I know.
But I've been experimenting with a low-priced family camera, a tripod, a hammer, a box of nails and two wet sponges.
Great results.
Kidding! That was McGyver.

And time to trap the guilty with

JUSTICE TRAPS THE GUILTY #3

A bit more of these will come up soon.
