Fun find!
I was looking through Tilliban's wonderful 50's Horror site (in German) and found THIS great photograph!

http://fifties-horror.de/files/media/2011/04/TillJimImprint.jpg
That's Tilliban on the right beside the great Jim Vadeboncoeur, Jr. (JVJ), source of so many great books on DCM!

Thanks for sharing this T!
Loved 'The Shadow' impression on the same page.

Tilliban,
I just read about your lecture in Cologne, that must have been a thrill to do.
Congrats!

Yeah, I was lecturing about EC science ficiton contrasted against Star Trek.
And such.
Lot of fun, and just the beginning.
Will be holding another lecture about pre-code horror comic books.
Looking forward to that!

For today I wanna acknowledge the US election and support the troops with this upload:

JOE YANK #16

(sorry for the European humor).

JVJ said otherwhere:

I'm REALLYL feeling weird about how many JVJ scanners have had to drop out of the project due to health problems. It's EERIE. Let's just hope that Rangerhouse and Tiliban aren't prone to the effects of my comics.

Now that you mention it, Jim, feeling a bit queasy just there...
Kidding. It'll pass.

I uploaded a first replacement scan for books not looking good. Now

WORLDS OF FEAR #7

looks a lot better, but I don't. That queasyness again.
Nah, I'm a joker.

I don't know if the source material has a curse on it, but that is a nice issue of "Worlds of Fear."

This is my "take out the trash" day!

First I upload the "doublette" issue of

ANDY COMICS #21

I scanned by mistake. It's already up, but Jim gave me this to scan.
Aaaarrrggghhh.

Second I upload an oldtimer issue of

SPY SMASHER #10

Which would be nice (would be fantastic!) if there weren't 8 pages missing in the middle!
Noticed this only when numbering the scanned pages.
Double and triple Aaaarrrghhh.

Let's put this behind us. Now.
Scanner's blues is. Over.
Feeling better and see you next week...

So sorry, Tillmann. Someday I'll get EVERYTHING right - and it will bring the Armageddon.

As for Spy Smasher: you all have to realize that my collection is not perfect either. If this book was complete, I could never afford it. It's okay to lament what is missing, but don't forget to enjoy what we have!

Yes, that WAS Sekowsky. Trust yourself.

Now I must end my break and go back to work. I've finally (almost) got the test page separated for the featured work for ImageS #13. Tomorrow I arrange for a press test to see if what I envision can even be done. Wish me luck.

Thanks DM!
Hey tilliban, if you find another version of a book already on the site - please don't hesitate to continue your own scan.  There is not rule a second version can't exist.

Also, as in the case of the Spy Smasher, please don't hesitate to pull missing pages from fiche or another scan on the site to fill in your pages.  This is exactly why DM and other fiche scans uploaded their versions to the site.

Thanks for all the work guys!  And good luck on your test Jim.

Thanks to DarkMark for "pimping up" my SPY SMASHER scan!

Today it's 1952 again and Standard is back with their first issue (of three):

JET FIGHTERS #5

Great art inside.
