Hi everybody,
I am back from SEA, coming straight from really hot summer into ultracold winter, brrrr. This stops me for nearly 2 weeks to start scanning chilly horror comics again. But now i finally finished my first book :

                WEB OF EVIL #10

enjoy!

I loved Web of Evil #10. One of the reasons I pay close attention to the horror comics is because my olden brother was a fan of the genre and it was from his comic books (and the few I could beg my parents to buy for me) that I learned how to read. Some of the horror comics scared me a bit when I was four and five but it was a delightful sort of fright, and many of the stories stuck with me while the Disney and Dell books didn't (except Uncle Scrooge) and some other genres like war and teen humor. I remember some of the story and I'm always on the lookout for ones which I recognize to compare the memory with the real thing. Web of Evil #10 was obviously an issue I read because I remember "The Brain that Wouldn't Die." I saw it the same year that I started elementary school, and I undoubtedly had trouble with the text because what I remembered didn't quite make sense (or rather I didn't fully understand the ending but had a pretty good grasp on the rest of the story) and now I see that my then developing reading skills weren't good enough for me to understand the text of the last three panels. That's one less mystery now.

Thank you for posting the issue. It's a pity Quality only published one horror title because this issue and other issues of Web of Evil I've read were a cut above much of the competition. Up until five minutes ago, I thought the "brain story" which haunted me was from an EC book.

Thanks for sharing that Jon and welcome home SDT!
Thanks very much for another horror title.  As I posted in the sorta Complete list of pre-code horror index, - http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/forum/index.php/topic,3151.0.html - we are doing very well with finding and scanning them for the collection.

I hope the weather there improves soon.

Welcome back, Will!
It eluded me that you had WEB OF EVIL #10.
Nice surprise. I got three last horror scans lying around.
But I'm saving them. For a special occasion!

WAR! What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing!
(except mebbe to be uploaded here from time to time)

WAR HEROES #4

No Jim-card goes with it, but I'd say it's Cameron-Rice-McLaughlin-Molno.
All with a question mark, cause all look a bit off.
And now I'm going to announce my special Valentine on the forum.

I can't say that I see the Molno in the last story of War Heroes. Unless his style changed after going to Charlton. I often recognize Molno and it is mainly his noses. I see a face and think that is a Molno nose and I am usually right. The men in War Heroes 4 do not have typical Molno noses. Now JVJ may shoot me down and that is OK I am often wrong. Sometimes I can positively identify but not always and sometimes I can say no way but I try.

You should make it so that your old avatar shows through in the white space, Tillmann! That might be very cool. Put the old avatar on a layer below the new one in Photoshop and change the blending mode of the ACE layer to "multiply".

Let me know if it looks good (like I imagine it might).

I sometimes wonder, Jim, what is going around in your head.
Still finding the time to play with Photoshop.
This is a nice suggestion, but don't be offended if I decline.
I'd somehow have the feeling to be behind bars.
Or the ACE logo being a kind of keyhole where people are peeping through.
You may be the man behind all the books, but in my case it would just be weird.

But now for our message of the day:
All these romance books being uploaded - bah!
Makes me sick to my black... eh.. heart. Why was there never a comic book called "Evil Romances"?!
So let's have some contrasting crime instead.

Sorry if my romance uploads are giving you "heartburn". If JVJ has any "evil romance" books, I'll try to scan those in a future batch.

Well, if more romance uploads will drive more of your uploads to compensate, then I'll keep going. But take heart (erk!), I have only have 44 books to go!
