R.I.P. Stanley Morse

Soon as I learned from the "Obituaries" section that notorious horror publisher Stanley Morse passed away, I delved into my digital files and brought this up.

WEIRD MYSTERIES #8

It's half apart and incomplete, but the three best stor... (let me rephrase that concerning it's a Morse mag)
... the three most interesting stories are there.
The four-page-quickie "Premonition!" is actually pretty good!
I'm strangely proud to add the infamous psycho killer tale "I Killed Mary" to our database.

(in comparison to the 1970 Dick-Ayers-version "I Chopped Her Head Off!" this is kindergarten)

And - blammo! - on with the ACE crime books.

CRIME MUST PAY THE PENALTY #37

is up. This is the second issue in a row (after the uploaded #38) consisting exclusively out of late 40s reprints!
Strikes me as odd. Presenting old material in mid 1954.
Again they are most dynamic reprints (Rudy Palais, Syd Greene and a real funky Warren Kremer story).
But they didn't dare pulling this off with their horror books.
Hm hm hm.

Bzzz bzzzzz bzzzzz... call me the busy bee!
With

HAND OF FATE #25a

another ACE series is COMPLETE!
Yay.
There's a numbering glitch in the ...dings... general map, though.
It says "issues published:18" but there are 19 to download and none of them a double.
Please correct to "issues published: 19" - it's that damn double number 25.
 :P

... and while you're at it, another "mistake": "8-25b", please...

OK T, I've changed  the information on the double #25 issues. Your's is #25A (Nov) and the other #25B (Dec) by the way. And the count is 18 total issues I believe.
Hopefully that takes care of it.

I love to count my beans!
Gonna mix some western and war into our ACE crime spree.
So here is (first of two)

HEROES OF THE WILD FRONTIER #27

Which is actually the next issue of Baffling Mysteries (who died with #26).
Lead story really is Cameron, I couldn't believe it at first sight.
Very toned down, strangely inked, rather boring, ahem...
But a nice Zansky following and a most unique and puzzling collaboration of McLaughlin + Ken Rice.

Sounds like "my titty" to me.
 ???

On with the crime show:

CRIME MUST PAY THE PENALTY #35

Finally all fresh stories, about time, folks.
Great jobs by Cameron, McLaughlin, Zansky and Streeter.

This is it, end of the line, folks.

BEYOND #27

The last of the ACE horror books I borrowed from Jim to scan.
Sadly, the series BEYOND is NOT complete.
Issue #1 is missing and #4 is incomplete as it is.
We'll see about that in the future.

Why do I have to think of soccer when I upload one of these?

CRIME MUST PAY THE PENALTY #34

And, wow!, what an issue. A reall killer-diller!
(expression I picked up from comic books)
All of Ace's BIG 4 of the fities are in it:
McLaughlin, Cameron, K. Rice and Zansky.

Plus special bonus on page 38 of scan:
Handwritten commentaries by Cameron himself - from his correspondence with maitre Vadeboncoeur.
You better believe it, bubba!
