Zany Comics - artists ID request
Poztron:
One shouldn't overlook that there are several stories signed by Don Orehek, one by Stan Goldberg, and one signed as Friedman...
As I think I've mentioned elsewhere here, I love these MAD imitations, perhaps largely because they provide an insight into some scrambling artists whipping out work that defined the low end of their quality. (Or in the case of Orehek, of up and coming artists who went on to better things, gag cartoons in his case.)

All the signed artists are recorded at GCD. Even I could identify those. Orhehek has a website with many examples of his work through the years. If you or your kids had any of those 101 _______ Joke books they may well of been Orehek. We may now think of Zany and Cracked as the low end of the spectrum but they had some of the top talents in their early issues. I was one who often would prefer Cracked to Mad. I loved Shut-Ups and Hurry-Ups and still do enjoy them. The movie or tv parodies varied from issue to issue so at any given time one could be better than the other. Severin did many for Cracked so you know those look good. In Mad I enjoyed Lighter Side and Spy vs Spy the most. I was always amazed by Argones. He provided so many gags per issue.
Think for a minute that each of those was in itself a gag. If they had been full page and printed in some other magazine he would have been making a fortune. He is a great talent.
