Remember that comics were first published as a give-away for a product promotional.  Ever see one of those "Bluebird" version of books, where a company got to put a big honking product sticker on the cover and distribute the books as give-aways?

I think John is right...if the newspapers are any sign, advertising money has fled the print media in a substantial way.

True enough BB.
And it's flocking to 'new media' and social networks.  Comics are trying to follow the money to there and need to 'integrate' their product with the new 'synergy.'

OMG, I can't believe I said that.   :o

One "utilizes integration to facilitate synergies between paradigmatic cross-platforms".

Or, comics are dying.

True enough BB.

I do miss the days when the word "synergy" was at least somewhat meaningful.

Funny story, at his previous job, a friend's team used to have meetings in "The Synergy Room."  He was very relieved to discover that it had that name because a small start-up named "Synergy" had previously rented it and sublet it to his company when they went under.
