Heavy on CGI but that's to be expected.

I'm sorry but it's not thrilling me. I'm very leery about comics being turned into movies. Besides, he wasn't the first Avenger anyway. He was still on ice when they were formed!

There might be a tiny bit of logic being he was an Avenger from #4 and born before the others but it's splitting hairs.  It's pretty clear the title is a commercial tie-in with the future Avengers movie.

Presumably, he's the "First Avenger," rather than the "first Avenger."  Think analogous to Namor being the "First Mutant."  As in, they were This before everybody was This.

(Not that movies should be at all beholden to what has happened in the comics.  They're not courting us as customers, because, with modern sales numbers, every existing Captain America fan buying a 3D ticket to watch it would net them the princely sum of...about three million bucks.  That probably doesn't even cover craft services.)

I realizing I'm nitpicking. I know the movie makers have to appeal to the masses and I'm actually okay with it. I mean, the new X-Men movie - didn't see it but it looked like the beast had blue fur and this took place in the 60's? If I do happen to watch the movie in question I put aside all preconceived notions and usually enjoy it. I'm my own worst enemy. I drive my wife crazy with it. She does the same with Harry Potter movie. We listened to the books (we had to do something during our hour long commute) and really enjoyed them and the first couple of movies were okay but then they went downhill and she gets so frustrated with them.
I may give Captain America a chance being that he's one of my favorites (other being Iron Man).
