Captain Tornado art (Popular Comics) - attn JVJ

Jedifish:
Hi

I'm cleaning up some of the Popular Comics issues at GCD. I see Jerry Bails' credits the art to Newt Alfred. Is this true for all issues of the run (46-56)? I also see JVJ credits Newt Alfred in his notes for Popular Comics #49.

And was Kenneth Kennedy the writer or just the creator. Jerry Bails just credits him as byline, not writer.

And to throw it out there, did George Scarbo also write his Comic Zoo strip?

JVJ (RIP):
That Newt Alfred credit was given to me by Hames Ware, Jedifish,
He and I believe that it is NEVER safe to apply blanket credits to a run from an ID for a single issue. If you look at other issues and they are the same artist, then perhaps those other issues can be credited to Alfred.

As for Kenneth Kennedy, as far as The Who's Who is/was concerned, there was not a real person with that name in comics. "He" should not be considered the creator or the writer. A "byline" is all that can be given to "him".

Thanks for the info, Jim.

Jedifish:
Well, I compared the art in #46 to the art in #49, and they look pretty similar to me, especially the silhouettes of Jane on the first page in each story.

JVJ (RIP):
I would have to see the art in #46 to give an opinion. Can you post some pages or email some to me at jim@bpib.com?

Thanks.
