Betty Goodan (October 11, 1923 - February 28, 2019)
https://www.mcaulaywallace.com/obituary/6082009

Betty Goodan assisted her father, Tillman Goodan, in illustrating the first ten (or so) issues of Fawcett's Gene Autry Comics (December 1941 - September 1943). The stories, btw, were written
by Gerald Geraghty, who also wrote for the Gene Autry films.

Another great died today in France.  Asterix illustrator Albert Uderzo has died at the age of 92.
Asterix was a very early love of mine even before I found American comics.

This has been one horrible month for fans of classic comic artists in addition to everything else.

I take at least some comfort that Uderzo, Fleishman, and Drucker all made it into their 90s; and at least in the cases of Uderzo and Drucker they were working until just a few years ago, and seemed to be doing well for their age from what we had heard.  Good lives, well lived, and in at least two cases (I'm not that familiar with Fleishman's work) artists that I first encountered and enjoyed back when I was in grade school in the 70's and never stopped appreciating.

Pasko was "my" Superman writer when I was growing up. I was always so excited to see his credit on a story...

Denny O'Neil (May 3, 1939 - June 11, 2020) just passed away:

https://www.newsfromme.com/2020/06/12/denny-oneil-r-i-p/

He was nice to talk with the one time I met him, I got my Green Lantern/ Green Arrow 76 and Batman 232 signed, along with a few other books.  He was really an extraordinarily good writer and editor for a very long time.

He was also working until the end... he had a story in the Joker 80th anniversary issue published this week.

It's being said that BOB FUJITANI has passed away at 99 years old.
He was one of my earliest GA favourites.
