Silver Agents #2 (Jul 1964)

Nice cover, and it's an interesting new adversary. But knowing that major black characters were excluded from comics until the late sixties makes the 1964 date seem like a bit of an anachronism (All Negro Comics and Lobo, notwithstanding). Was the alternate history of your comics more progressive than the actual history we had?

Well, that's the idea. Maybe Standard had _actual_ people of color working there? I actually figured the writer was some white dude married to a black woman. Black Panther first appeared in 1966, so it's only two years earlier. Maybe the civil rights movement inspired someone.

I also set Optima (the brown woman in blue and white) having her first appearance in 1974, _and_ becoming leader of the Sentinels. When reality doesn't live up to what you want, make it what you want.

ASTROSICARIUS

Astrosicarius is a vastly powerful being originating in the extra-dimensional God-Realm.

He causes stars to appear to collapse into themselves; in actuality, they pass through a portal into the God-Realm to become a part of his unfathomable Astro-Field, where he reigns supreme.

ASTROSICARIUS

Is he more Galactus, or Dormammu? Or something else?

Nice design.

More like Galactus, without being an indifferent force of nature, bit of Darkseid type.

If you can read the attached ... draft profile for him.

Since I'm working on "Standard Comics Encyclopedia" (SCE) Volume 2, and I noticed some blank spaces in the SCEI, I wanted to get some more drawings to use in Vol 1 (reprint) and 2 to fill up space and spare people my poor writing.

Panel 1: Baronin Zerstorer vs Grim Reaper
Panel 2: Sentinels (Optima, UltraMan, Crimson Streak, TNT Todd) vs Astrosicarius
Panel 3: Painted Lady vs Emulex
Panel 4: Optima vs Iron Panther and Iron Panthers
Panel 5: Lady Fairplay vs Dreahelm
Panel 6: Cyborilla vs WonderMan

Volume I is available at IndyPlanet: http://www.indyplanet.us/product/130078/

Very nice!
:D

And many thanks again to Roy for letting DCM use his commissions in our current and some past DCM banners.
They make the site look so much better with them at the top.

My own original character, the Raven, is beaten but not broken. Brought to you by Mighty Mitch Ballard and loosely based on the good old Ernie Chan 'put the action in a spotlight' method.

Probably some trade dress to come to make it a cover.

My own original character, the Raven, is beaten but not broken.

Both of these are wonderful, but the dark moody blacks really appeal to me.

Wow! Some great art by TJ Frias in this homage to the Kevin McGuire cover to Justice League #1 from the 1980s, featuring some of my own characters in my superhero team, the Sentinels.

TJ was great to deal with: open to idea, good communication, quick turnaround, terrific product. Highly recommended.

Featuring (l. to r.):
Back: Lady Fairplay, Grim Reaper, Guardsman
Second: Black Orchid, Crimson Streak, Raven, Star-Storm
Front:Dr. Quantum, Optima, UltraMan
