Oooo.  That's a sharp piece.  Fun to catch all the little details.

Still haven't found Waldo, though.

This one's a bit of a departure (not as much as an upcoming one), but it's still PD characters (plus one of my own):

Standard Comics Team-Up #422 (May, 1998)
The Terror of London!!

Legendary Victorian London detective Sherlock Holmes encounters not one, but two, mythical figures in foggy London town -- the rat-like vampire Count Orlok, and English folkloric-figure, Spring-Heeled Jack. Can Holmes defeat them? Is SHJ what he appears to be? Only one way to find out - buy this issue!

The Sentinels #11 (Jan 1963)
"Dr. Micro's City of Death!"

Watch as Dr. Micro turns the Sentinels into -- the Planet's Tiniest Super-Heroes!! Can the Sentinels' newest members, Lightning Girl and the Black Fury, survive their first adventure?!

Roll Call:
Dr. Micro - bit of a standard issue "mad scientist", he's a B- or C-lister kind of villain, but "important" for introducing Micro-City in which the Sentinels have a few adventures over the years;
Magno;
Lightning Girl- daughter of the original Lighting Girl and Lash Lightning;
Black Fury- the Fury's old partner, Chuck, all grown up; and
TNT Todd.

Another idea I just had was just superheroes beating down Nazis, with the further refinement that the heroes should have a skull and/or crossbones motif on their costume, but I've run out of them:

Blazing Skull/Destroyer (Timely)
Grim Reaper/Black Terror (Nedor)
Nighmare (of Nightmare and Sleepy "fame")
umm ..... anyone else I'm missing?

 Quality's Jester wore a skull emblem on his chest in some of his earlier stories. but putting a death symbol on a Jester didn't really work and the emblem went away within a year (probably a few months less).

No prob. Sometimes the images don't show up here anyway, so I think I'll just do links.

Ahh, that's what happened.  I see a couple now that I didn't before.  Links are likely the safe way to go.

Absolutely nothing to do with PD comics, but I thought my idea was rather clever, and the execution rocks:

http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=938012&GSub=108696

From the artist, Michael Walsh:
"1. Layout the page digitally at a small size.
2. Blow up digitally and pencil in photoshop with a tablet.
3. Print out in a light non-photo blue onto bristol paper.
4. Usually I jump right in with ink onto the bristol but sometimes I'll do a bit of traditional pencilling if I want to work something out a bit more."

These are very nice, indeed.  I especially like the style of the Who's Who article.  (I noticed it initially in your Grim Reaper entry).
