Next up:

The Sentinels #5 (July, 1962):
"Enter -- EMULEX!"

In this issue, the Planet's Ultimate Super-Heroes encounter a new foe, the android Emulex, who can duplicate all their powers. How can they hope to stop him!?!? I'm gonna guess "teamwork" has something to do with it. And the part about being super-heroes.

All for the exorbitant price of 12 cents!

Nice homage!  (Isn't that French for "cheese"?)

This one's a bit more Bronze Age ...

The Sentinels #250 (Dec 1982)
"Simian Savagery"

The Sentinels' prime(ate) adversary returns to raid Freedoms' Stronghold when the member compliment is at a minimum. Will they be able to triumph against the armored ape? A mysterious transmission piques the interest of Reaper and Orchid. Will the Crimson Streak be paralyzed?

All this and more in the special 250th issue of the long running series.

The Sentinels #250 (Dec 1982)
"Simian Savagery"

Cool.

I was surprised to see that it was listed as pen and ink.  The heavy line weight had me thinking that it was probably marker, or possibly brush.

I asked Michael about it and he replied:
"It's mostly in India ink with brushes, a bit of brush pens as well. On strathmore paper."

The "media type" options on CAF are preset too.

Hey, look, I'm totally hijacking this thread.  Another commission:

http://davedrawscomics.blogspot.ca/2012/08/golden-age-raven.html

This one features Ace's Raven character.

Again, the thing I really love about the artist is his technique with ink wash.  I also think he does Golden Agers really well.
