JVJ (RIP):
Centerfold strip is by Bob Powell (don't know about "shop" here - looks pretty typical to me) and the text illo is by Sparling. If I can be blunt here: looking for "a similar drawing" is one of the best ways to drive yourself crazy. Looking for "HOW" someone draws is much more productive than trying to memorize "WHAT" they drew. IMHO and FWIW.

Eastern Color's Heroic Comics #24 is going up now!

May, 1944. Heroic's shift from superheroes to war heroes was becoming obvious by the time this book came out. Hydroman, Man O'Metal, and Music Master had been religated to the back of the book, with just 6 pages each. However, Music Master managed to squeeze in a 7th in the form of a PSA drawn by Jimmy Thompson.
