Can the five Fiction House Spirit House comics be uploaded?

Not sure.  I'm inclined to think yes- based on general policy on Fiction house itself- but I would wait for one of the PD experts to say something.

I don't see anything in the "renewals for periodicals" list.  I'm exhausted and in a rush (great combination), so I might be missing something and it could be a post-1950 title (eek--searching the database for "Spirit" wouldn't be fun), but otherwise, it should be fine.

It is a post 50s title.  It was published in 1952-3.

Because I felt like it, I did a search of the online records for "spirit", using the Search Limits (1950-73 Date range) and only found a "recorded document" from 1969.

Yeah, similarly, after getting the page to choke after ten thousand hits, I limited the years to 1950-3 and got less than a hundred hits, none of which were comics.

However, that would only be original registration, which...I don't know, I should check again for 1978-81, I guess, to look for a renewal, in case the registration (not required with publication) came later.

I ran another search.  The previous search was the first time I used the Search Limits ... and I obviously had no clue what I was doing.  This time I set the limits as:
Range 1979-81
Item Type: Serials (how comics appear to be classified by the Copyright Office)

I got 37 results, 4 of which were for "Will Eisner's The Spirit" published by Kitchen Sink Enterprises during that time period (the other 33 results looked to be for non-comic items), but I saw nothing for Renewals.

Using the Range of 1950-53 with the Item Type as Serials, to see if the Renewal would pop-up using those dates, I got three results, none of which were for a comic book with "Spirit" in the title.

Likewise (I feel rather stupid), searching for "Spirit Comics" turns up nothing, regardless of date or type.

Don't worry Yoc, they are almost done as I write this, even made a new special category for them in the Fiction House section.
