the Hernandez-Guardineer connection

If you are fan of Los Bros. Hernandez, you might want to check out pg 10 in the recently uploaded Police #8. It is the splash page for "The Mouthpiece" story by Fred Guardineer. There's an uncanny resemblance between that page and work 60+ years later by Mario & Jaime Hernandez. A certain placement of blacks on the page, the clean-lined telegraphed faces, the woman on the right side of the Splash panel, that all make me think of Hernandez art. I wonder if either brother ran across Guardineer art at some point and dug him.
