One thing that I find very interesting is there is no mention that _some_ of the scans at that site were public domain. Obviously, those weren't the problem. But I wonder how many people think that all scanning is bad, even when there are books we have a right to post since they copyright has lapsed. And the articles on the takedown haven't helped.

Oh, like there could possibly be anything interesting out there that's not covered by a copyright held by an existing publisher. All good things come with a brand name and a price, of course.
(My way of suggesting that the articles aren't trying to help. After all, the public purchases very little advertising from ICv2 and other news outlets. Not that I'm cynical or anything...)

I was really surprised by the blatant breaches of multiple copyrights by htmlcomics. Also maybe or maybe not related comicsworld now has "Wordpress This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service"
